A to Z Challenge and the tummy flu

I was struck down by a cruel stomach bug yesterday at school: vomiting, sweats, severe chills. I have vague memories of the grad program Director setting me up with a place to lie down. I managed to get myself home after a long nap but was not in much shape to post. So today I post letters G and H. After more sleep and some Gatorade, anyway!

My spiritual journey is all about finding the grace in the everyday—and the not so everyday—while living a full and creative life that includes chronic illness, PTSD, and depression. I'm a writer, blogger and photographer, live in lovely Minneapolis, Minnesota and am happily married to George and doggie-mama to Piper. I’m a Benedictine Oblate candidate of St. John’s Abbey in Collegeville, MN. My creative inspirations include nature, good books, Lake Superior, my flower garden, and my faith. More than anything, I cherish spending time with friends and, especially, family.

  1. Well, bless your heart, little gal. So sorry you’re ailin’. I been there, done that, too. Not recently, Praise God! When you feel better, come visitin’, okay? Looking forward to hearing you’ve recovered. Oh, man! I remember now, back in 1963, when I was just 30 and a freshman in college; they made us get the flu shot. First time I’d ever had one, and soon came down with the mother of all flu bug. It was years before I got one again. Never been that sick before or since. Ugh! In my early 80’s now. God bless you and so sorry about your mom’s illness. Your new friend, Ruby aka Blabbin’ Grammy. I’m no. 789 on the challenge list. 🙂

    1. Thanks Ruby, for your kind thoughts. I will definitely check out your blog today! Incidentally, I think you were looking at some old posts–my mom died on April 15, 2007. Please don’t feel bad though! It was sweet of you to think of her!
