Life is Grace

discoveries of grace in my messy and imperfect, but blessed, life

PRAY FOR PARIS

yes, pray for Paris
but remember
before They attacked Paris
They bombed Beirut
They brought down a Russian airliner
They killed one hundred in Egypt
They have slaughtered thousands in Syria and Iraq
and they are not done yet
so pray not just for Paris
pray for Our entire broken, bleeding, world
for We are all in this
Together

  1. Mmmmmm… it is encouraging to read this way of perceiving among so many fellow bloggers, to see beyond the tragic moment to the tragic conditions in which it happens. It is especially encouraging to see it so well rendered in words, here.

    Kudos.

Thank you Patrick! I don’t usually venture into poetry but this one wrote itself…I hope I don’t have occasion to write more like this.

      1. <smile> The best ones, the best insight — those ones always write themselves. Hopefully, you’ll have better reasons to access that insight again. : )
